Acid Washed est un projet initié en 2008 par deux amis de longue date, les producteurs et DJs parisiens Andrew Claristidge et Richard d’Alpert. Signés par Record Makers, ils se font remarquer dès 2009 avec la sortie d’une petite bombe house, le très mélancholique General Motors, Detroit, America. Ce premier EP contient également des remixes de Black Strobe et de Gavin Russom, grand habitué de DFA. L’album, éponyme, suit rapidement en 2010, et confirme leur statut de nouveaux héritiers de la French Touch. Ils revendiquent des influences variées, allant de sons house de Détroit et Chicago à Steve Reich, en passant par Kraftwerk. L’année suivante, ils multiplient les dates dans le monde entier tout en enchaînant les remixes, notamment pour Arnaud Rebotini, Tristesse Contemporaine ou encore Miss Kittin. Leur deuxième album, répondant au nom approprié de “House Of Melancholy” et produit par Joakim, sort en 2013 et prône un retour aux sources de la house et de la techno. On y trouve des collaborations, entre autres avec Miss Kittin, Turzi, La Mverte et Yan Wagner, auteur de l’excellent mix LYO#034. Richard d’Alpert quitte le projet à la fin de l’année 2014, laissant Andrew Claristidge seul maître à bord. Voici donc le mix LYO#048 par Acid Washed, bonne écoute!
Acid Washed is a project started in 2008 by two longtime friends, the Paris based producers and DJs Andrew Claristidge and Richard d’Alpert. Signed by Record Makers, they start drawing attention in 2009 with the release of a melancholic house bomb, General Motors, Detroit, America. The debut EP also features remixes by Black Strobe and Gavin Russom from DFA fame. The eponymous LP follows quickly in 2010 and establishes the duo as new successors of the French Touch. Their influences are quite varied, ranging from Detroit and Chicago house sounds to Steve Reich and Kraftwerk. The following year they go from strength to strength, playing DJ and live sets all around the world whilst remixing other artists including Arnaud Rebotini, Tristesse Contemporaine and Miss Kittin to name but a few. Their second album, appropriately named “House Of Melancholy” and produced by Joakim, comes out in 2013 and claims a return to the roots of house and techno. Some of the tracks feature guests such as Miss Kittin, Turzi, La Mverte and Yan Wagner, the man behind the excellent LYO#034 mix.
